Paris Saint-Germain welcome Lyon to the Parc des Princes on Sunday night, as both sides turn their attention back to domestic matters.

PSG were on Champions League duty in midweek, although severely underwhelmed as they only picked up a 1-1 draw to mark the debut of their hyped attacking trident of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

That result is no reflection on their Ligue 1 form, however. Les Parisiens have started the campaign in perfect fashion, picking up five wins from the first five fixtures of the campaign - just the third time they've ever managed to do so.

After a poor start to the season, in which they picked up two points from their opening three games, Lyon have turned the tide. Two Ligue 1 victories on the bounce were followed up by a good 2-0 Europa League win at Rangers in midweek, setting up an intriguing encounter on Sunday.

Here's 90min's preview of the clash.

PSG team news

After being forced off with an ankle injury in PSG's trip to Brugge, Kylain Mbappe will likely be out for the visit of Lyon, although it is still unclear how long he will remain absent.

With the Frenchman out, Messi will likely take up a central role in the front three while Angel Di Maria - who, with Idrissa Gana Gueye, is back in contention after having served a suspension in midweek - could feature on the right.

Mauricio Pochettino also has other some injury headaches with Sergio Ramos, Marco Verratti, Colin Dagba, Layvin Kurzawa and Juan Bernat still sidelined.

Lyon team news

Defender Damien Da Silva is set to make a return for Peter Bosz's side, meaning Jerome Boateng could be demoted to the substitutes bench following a disappointing performance against Rangers.

Former Liverpool man Xherdan Shaqiri is also set to return to the starting XI, so Karl Toko Ekambi could be moved to a central role for the visitors, who are without the injured Moussa Dembele.

Midfielder Thiago Mendes remains out of contention, while Leo Dubois' continued absence will once again mean an appearance for 18-year-old Malo Gusto, who impressed on Thursday night.

PSG vs Lyon prediction

Pochettino's side are lacking some star quality from their lineup but, even without the likes of Mbappe, Ramos and Verratti, their possible XI is a monstrous prospect for any opposition. Messi, Neymar, Hakimi, Di Maria and even the bang in-form Ander Herrera - there are creative, dynamic and destructively good players all over the field, ready to make an impact on proceedings.

Lyon, however, are no push overs. Since a very rocky start to their Ligue 1 campaign, a 1-0 win at Nantes and a 3-0 victory over Strasbourg have shown competitors just what a threat they can be, while a 2-0 beating of Rangers in midweek was nothing short of impressive.

Unfortunately, however, PSG seem determined to regain their domestic determination. Having scored four in each of their last three home fixtures and thus far maintained a 100% record in the league, they're quite evidently the team to catch.

While it could be a tight affair, Pochettino and his PSG players will expect, and demand, another three points on Sunday.

Prediction: PSG 2-1 Lyon
