Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to let go of the majority of their Argentine contingent this summer, with Lionel Messi the only player they plan on keeping.

The French club are looking at a major squad overhaul at the end of the 2021/22 campaign after failing to win the UEFA Champions League yet again.

According to L'Equipe, PSG's Argentine players with the exception of Messi have been told they have no future in Paris.

Angel di Maria will be a free agent in June with PSG deciding against handing him a new deal in the summer.

Mauro Icardi and Leandro Paredes are the other two Argentines who will be put on the transfer list as soon as the season comes to a close.

Di Maria has been a vital player for PSG since his arrival from Manchester United. He has played 289 games for the club and has been a profitable investment when it comes to his performances throughout his stay in the French capital.

However, since the arrival of Messi, Di Maria has had limited opportunities to play and hasn't completed a full 90 minutes in a Ligue 1 match since December.

Icardi has endured a season to forget at PSG, scoring just five goals in 30 appearances. Leandro Paredes has managed to appear in 15 games in Ligue 1 this season.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to want Messi in his squad if he remains in charge next season, though 90min reported earlier this year that he is expected to leave the club this summer.

Meanwhile, Marca report that Messi is keen on seeing out the remainder of his contract at PSG, which runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.
