Chelsea secured a big victory in their bid to qualify for the Champions League quarter finals with a 1-0 win over PSG at the Stade Jean-Bouin on Thursday evening.

A first half Millie Bright goal saw the Blues to victory over last season's beaten semi finalists as the west London outfit turned in a resilient, disciplined performance.

Chelsea took the lead just before the half hour mark, Bright giving Èlisa de Almeida the slip from a corner and volleying home Erin Cuthbert's delivery at the back post.

Kerr saw an effort deflected narrowly wide thanks to an important De Almeida intervention following a flowing team move in the second half as the Blues pushed for a second.

PSG really started to go for it in the final 25 minutes, with Kadidiatou Diani moving into the central striker role and stretching the Chelsea backline. She had two sightings of goal in the space of 10 minutes, first calling Ann-Katrin Berger into action after working an inch of space for herself, and then firing narrowly over from the edge of the box.

But a resilient Chelsea held firm to secure a vital three points in their particularly tough Champions League group.

GK: Sarah Bouhaddi - 6/10 - Did well to keep Kerr out from point blank range inside 12 minutes.

RB: Ashley Lawrence - 6/10 -
Got forward more in the second half and looked lively, but unable to carve open any clear cut opportunities for her side.

CB: Èlisa de Almeida - 5/10 -
Lost track of Bright at a corner in the build up to PSG conceding the opening goal. Made an important block to send a goal-bound Kerr effort around the post in the second half.

CB: Amanda Ilestedt - 6/10 -
Had a tough battle up against the dynamic Harder and Kerr, with the pair getting in behind the PSG backline on a handful of occasions.

LB: Sakina Karchaoui - 7/10 -
Produced a great piece of defending to prevent Charles delivering from the byline and had a really interesting battle with the Chelsea winger. Looked one of PSG's most dangerous players in the second half with a couple of exciting forays forward.

CM: Oriane Jean-François (79' for Traoré) - 5/10 -
Second best in her battle with Cuthbert.

CM: Grace Geyoro - 5/10 -
Largely kept quiet as PSG were second best in midfield. Unable to have her usual attacking impact on proceedings.

CM: Jackie Groenen (70' for Cascarino) - 6/10 -
Neat, tidy and energetic, but unable to have any telling impact on proceedings.

RW: Kadidiatou Diani - 7/10 -
Moved to a solo central striker role in the second half and looked dangerous when given an inch of space. Did well to work an opportunity for herself but could only fire straight at Berger, before sending another chance just over.

ST: Ramona Bachmann - 6/10 -
Led the line in the first half but constantly interchanged with the front three, often drifting to the left or coming deep. Played as more of a number 10 in the second half as PSG switched formation.

LW: Laurina Fazer - 8/10 -
A really bright spark for PSG, the youngster often carrying her side's greatest attacking threat.

SUB: Delphine Cascarino (70' for Groenen) - 6/10

SUB: Manssita Aissatou Traoré (79' for Jean-François) - 6/10

Chelsea (4-3-3)

GK: Ann-Katrin Berger - 6/10 - Held onto a Diani effort and claimed a dangerous cross in the second half to help keep PSG at bay.

RB: Maren Mjelde - 6/10 - Popped up with a great cross onto the head of Reiten which led to the corner from which Chelsea took the lead. Did a good defensive job alongside Charles to help stem the threat from the PSG left flank.

CB: Millie Bright - 8/10 - Volleyed Chelsea into the lead at the back post after giving De Almeida the slip from a corner. Popped up with an important second half block to halt a Diani cross. Really solid alongside Buchanan.

CB: Kadeisha Buchanan - 8/10 - Brought the ball out from the back confidently on a number of occasions. Produced a terrific piece of defending to hold off Diani in the second half and prevent the PSG forward from getting in behind.

LB: Magdalena Eriksson - 6/10 - Didn't venture forward a great deal, but did a solid defensive job against the electric PSG forward line.

CM: Sophie Ingle (91' for Perisset) - 7/10 - Complemented Cuthbert really well in midfield. Read the game so well, tidy and smart in possession.

CM: Erin Cuthbert - 9/10 - Provided the deep cross from which Bright gave Chelsea the lead. Energetic, right in the thick of every positive Chelsea move, breaking up play so effectively and kickstarting attacks.

CAM: Pernille Harder (77' for Fleming) - 6/10 - Linked up well with Kerr and displayed flashes of quality, coming close to adding a second for Chelsea in the second half with a driving run.

RW: Niamh Charles - 7/10 - Had a really interesting, athletic battle with Karchaoui, largely nullifying the threat of the flying fullback.

ST: Sam Kerr - 6/10 - Tested Bouhaddi inside 12 minutes after nipping past De Almeida. Attempted to lob the PSG keeper with an audacious chip from range, and saw another effort deflect narrowly wide.

LW: Guro Reiten (77' for Rytting Kaneryd) - 6/10 - Won the corner from which Chelsea took the lead. Otherwise one of her quieter evenings going forward, but worked hard alongside Eriksson defensively.

SUB: Jessie Fleming (77' for Harder) - 6/10

SUB: Johanna Rytting Kaneryd (77' for Reiten) - 7/10

SUB: Eve Perisset (91' for Ingle) - N/A
