GK: Illan Meslier - Made five saves to make a vital contribution to Leeds securing an important point against a Newcastle side that had won six Premier League games in a row before kick-off.

RB: Serge Aurier - Scored Nottingham Forest's goal in their impressive draw against Chelsea and generally got forward to good effect without neglecting defensive duties.

CB: Willy Boly - It was a big defensive performance from the Forest centre-back to keep Chelsea at bay. Even came away with an assist too.

CB: Luke Shaw - Didn't look out of place in a second successive game in the centre of the Manchester United defence. The team kept clean sheets in both.

LB: Oleksandr Zinchenko - Got the better of Solly March in his 1v1 battles as Arsenal came through another test. Came off with the Gunners cruising at 3-0.

CM: Michael Olise - Crystal Palace's best creative spark in both open play and set-pieces. Registered assists for both his team's goals against Bournemouth.

CM: Douglas Luiz - The best player on the pitch as Aston Villa beat Tottenham. Made the first goal possible by showing ambition to shoot at goal and later scored the second himself.

CM: Martin Odegaard - At the heart of everything good about Arsenal, setting up one goal and scoring his team's third on the way to an eventual 4-2 win.

RW: Bukayo Saka - Another star performer for the Gunners in what felt like could be a significant moment in their season. Needed less than two minutes to get Arsenal going.

ST: Ivan Toney - Scored one and made the other as Brentford finished 2022 in style with a 2-0 victory over West Ham. The result was done by half-time.

LW: Marcus Rashford - Initially dropped by Erik ten Hag for turning up late to a team meeting but bounced back incredibly well after coming on at half-time to score the decisive goal against Wolves.
