Premier League Scraps Pay-Per-View TV Matches for Remainder of 2020
By Tom Gott

The Premier League's fixtures after the international break will all be broadcast on traditional services, with the controversial pay-per-view system scrapped.
England's top flight had introduced a system to allow fans to watch individual games which would not normally have been broadcasted for £14.95 per fixture, but the scheme was met with immense resistance.

Many fans refused to pay and a lot of supporters even chose to donate that £14.95 to charity, raising a huge amount of money for organisations across the country, and the Premier League were left with no choice but to cancel the PPV system.
The league took to their official website to confirm the fixtures for the next two weeks, stating that the PPV scheme has been thrown out for the remainder of 2020, after which a full review of the state of play will be held.
"The Premier League today announces that all fixtures from Saturday 21 November, and throughout the Christmas and new year period, will be made available to fans to watch live in the UK," a statement read. "Working with our broadcast partners, and with the support of clubs, all matches will be shown via existing Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon and BBC services.
"There is a full schedule of Premier League matches over the festive period and clubs are committed to an accessible solution for fans.
"These plans have been made with the cooperation of our broadcast partners, working with us to deliver these additional matches while stadiums are missing the supporters who are such an integral part of the game.
"The agreement will be reviewed in the new year following consultation with clubs, broadcast partners and in line with any decisions made by Government regarding the return of spectators to stadiums. The Premier League and our clubs remain committed to the safe return of fans as soon as possible."

After the break, Chelsea will travel to St James' Park to face Newcastle United in the first game back, and Saturday 21 November will also see Tottenham take on Manchester City and Manchester United host West Brom.
Leeds vs Arsenal will kick off what looks like an enthralling Sunday evening, with Liverpool and Leicester set to square off later in the day.
