The European excitement is over for another week and the focus is back on the Premier League for gameweek 11.

Manchester City's trip to Anfield to face Liverpool is the clear stand-out fixture across a weekend which also includes the battle of the United's - Manchester vs Newcastle - and Arsenal's visit up north to face Leeds.

Here's how 90min sees the action unfolding.

Friday 14 October

Brentford vs Brighton

The battle of the overachievers will take place on Friday as both Brentford and Brighton look to bounce back from defeat.

The hosts were thumped 5-1 by Newcastle last time out, while Brighton were handed their own taste of defeat at the hands of Tottenham, so both teams will be desperate to get back to winning ways in a rivalry which has blossomed through off-the-pitch beef between owners Matthew Benham and Tony Bloom.

Roberto De Zerbi has impressed in his short time as Brighton boss and will fancy his chances against a Brentford defence guilty of comical mistakes against Newcastle.

Prediction: Brentford 1-2 Brighton

Saturday 15 October

Leicester vs Crystal Palace

We head to the bottom of the Premier League to kick-start Saturday's action as 15th-placed Crystal Palace travel to face a Leicester City side sitting ugly in 20th.

Leicester optimism following the thumping of Nottingham Forest faded almost immediately as they threw away a lead to fall 2-1 to Bournemouth, extending their run to just one win in their last eight games.

Palace haven't fared much better but did secure their second win of the season last time out, although they may struggle against Brendan Rodgers' improving Foxes.

Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Crystal Palace

Fulham vs Bournemouth

Two of the Premier League's surprise packages will butt heads on Saturday as Fulham host Bournemouth.

Fulham's impressive start has slowed down somewhat in recent weeks but they're still up in ninth, one place behind a Bournemouth side that has not tasted defeat since they were thumped 9-0 by Liverpool five games ago - Jurgen Klopp's side are actually two points behind the Cherries, who have played one game more.

In the end, it might be too tough to split these two.

Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Bournemouth

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Nottingham Forest

Back to the bottom of the table for 18th vs 19th.

Wolves have lost three on the bounce, admittedly against tricky opposition, and are without a permanent manager following the departure of Bruno Lage - perhaps not for long as Nuno Espirito Santo eyes a return to Molineux.

Having sacked two key members of their recruitment department following an eventful summer, Forest are winless in seven but are prepared to keep the faith in Steve Cooper, who surprisingly inked a new contract earlier this month.

Prediction: Wolves 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Tottenham vs Everton

Tottenham's mission to keep up with the Premier League title race continues in Saturday's late kick-off as they welcome Everton to north London.

Antonio Conte's side have been guilty of some mixed performances but are largely getting the job done when needed, having lost just once in the Premier League all season.

They're up against an Everton side whose positive momentum was halted last time out as they fell 2-1 to Manchester United, and the Toffees might be on the receiving end of another defeat here.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Everton

Sunday 16 October

Aston Villa vs Chelsea

Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last four games but will see that record tested when Chelsea come to town on Sunday.

Three draws in four games represents improvement for Steven Gerrard's side but also highlights the issues still facing the boss, whose team are proving to be tough customers at the back but toothless in attack.

Chelsea, who will be without the injured Reece James, don't always enjoy their games against stubborn defences, but they'll be expected to find a way through and secure the win.

Prediction: Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

Leeds vs Arsenal

Arsenal will need to see off Leeds United if they are to continue their reign at the top of the Premier League.

The Gunners are flying, with 12 wins in their last 13 games, and looking more than good value for their place atop the table.

On the other hand, Leeds are without a win in five games and have been on a steady decline which is likely to continue at the hands of Mikel Arteta's rampant leaders.

Prediction: Leeds 1-3 Arsenal

Man Utd vs Newcastle

Manchester United will face a tricky test on Sunday as they battle to keep the 'United' nickname away from a Newcastle side who are firing on nearly all cylinders these days.

Erik ten Hag's side have responded well to their 6-3 mauling at the hands of Manchester City but haven't done enough to make fans 100% confident heading into a game against a Newcastle team who have lost just once all season.

It has all the ingredients to be one of the top matches of the weekend.

Prediction: Man Utd 2-1 Newcastle

Southampton vs West Ham

Southampton will seek to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat when they host a resurgent West Ham side on Sunday.

Ralph Hasenhuttl once again finds his job under threat as the Saints continue to tumble down the Premier League table, whereas West Ham have won four on the bounce in all competitions and are finally starting to feel good about themselves.

There's only one way we can see this going. Sorry Ralph.

Prediction: Southampton 0-1 West Ham

Liverpool vs Man City

Perhaps saving the best for last, Manchester City's trip to Liverpool is hardly the top-of-the-table affair most expected when the fixtures were released this summer.

Liverpool haven't won in the Premier League since they saw off Newcastle on August 31, but they come into this battle-of-the-behemoths feeling the confidence of a 7-1 mauling of Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday. In four European games, Liverpool have won three games, but they have tasted victory just twice in eight domestic attempts.

City, on the other hand, haven't been defeated since the Reds pipped them to the Community Shield in July.

Expect a thoroughly entertaining game, but with current form in mind, we're picking City to get the job done.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-3 Man City
