Nuno Espirito Santo and David Moyes have each been nominated for Premier League manager of the month for August after their respective clubs excellent starts to the 2021/22 season.

Nuno has led Spurs to three consecutive wins in their opening three games of the campaign, putting them top of the Premier League table and already the only side with a 100% record intact.

Moyes’ West Ham, meanwhile, sit in second place thanks to two wins and a draw so far.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and new Everton manager Rafa Benitez are also nominated.

Despite having to contend with the negative attention brought on by the Harry Kane transfer saga, Nuno’s Spurs side beat reigning champions Manchester City in their opening match of the season and have since added further wins against Wolves and Watford, keeping three clean sheets.

Moyes started the season by overseeing his Hammers team come from behind to beat Newcastle 4-2 at St James’s Park and then impressively scored another four against Leicester. The Scot has already won 10 manager of the month awards, behind only Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.

Tuchel won his first Premier League manager of the month prize for March last season and is nominated again thanks to Chelsea wins over Crystal Palace and Arsenal, as well as a 1-1 draw with a resurgent Liverpool at Anfield.

Benitez has previously won manager of the month awards during his time at Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle and could now get another with a fourth different club. His Everton team have also won two games and drawn one so far, beating Brighton and Southampton.
