There is a tantalising offering of Premier League football this Sunday.

There are gargantuan matches at the top and bottom of the Premier League table, as well as a potentially decisive clash in the race for a top four spot. With four matches on the schedule, it could prove a significant Sunday come the end of the campaign.

The blockbuster fixture of a jam-packed day of action undoubtedly takes place in the day's late kick-off at Anfield, with Liverpool playing host to Manchester City in a clash of title rivals.

Aston Villa vs Tottenham

Victory for Aston Villa against Tottenham on Sunday could be definitive in the race for Champions League football, with a win for the hosts moving them eight points ahead of Spurs - although the Lilywhites have a game in hand.

The Villans have rediscovered some form recently after a little wobble, winning their last three Premier League matches. Unai Emery's men also managed victory in the reverse fixture, beating Tottenham 2-1 in north London back in November.

A win for Spurs would technically put them in the driving seat for the top four, moving them even further clear of Manchester United in sixth. Ange Postecoglou's side have been in mixed form of late, but with no clean sheets in their last six matches, there are likely to be goals at Villa Park on Sunday.

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest

Brighton will be desperate to bring a woeful run of form to an end this Sunday when they welcome struggling Nottingham Forest to the south coast. The Seagulls were hammered 4-0 by Roma in the Europa League midweek, having previously suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Fulham.

Roberto De Zerbi's side haven't scored in their last three games and have been incredibly inconsistent since the start of the new year. Brighton will take confidence from having beaten Forest 3-2 at the City Ground back in November, but morale can't be too high at the Amex right now.

It's a similar story for Forest, who have been in dreadful form lately. Nuno Espirito Santo's influence has waned in recent weeks, with the East Midlands club having won just one of their last ten matches in 90 minutes. With two fragile sides going head-to-head on Sunday, it's anyone's guess who will come out on top.

West Ham United vs Burnley

West Ham seemed to have shrugged off some disappointing results - including that 6-0 home defeat to Arsenal - with two Premier League wins on the bounce, but a 1-0 defeat to Freiburg in the Europa League midweek has put them back on the losing path.

But what better way to shake off a defeat on Thursday than a home tie with the dismal Burnley? The Clarets have lost their last four games by an aggregate score of 13-1, and are edging perilously closer to relegation with each passing week.

The reverse fixture between the sides was full of drama at Turf Moor, with two West Ham goals after the 85th minute securing a 2-1 victory for the visitors.

Liverpool vs Manchester City

One of the most teasing games of the Premier League season so far, Man City's trip to Liverpool is sure to be pivotal in the destination of this year's title. Pep Guardiola's side will leapfrog the Reds in the table with victory, while a win for the hosts would see them four points clear of the reigning champions.

Man City have a poor record at Anfield despite their recent dominance of English football, with the Sky Blues having won just twice there during the 21st century. Only one of those victories came under Guardiola during the 2020/21 season, with Liverpool even managing to win this fixture on Merseyside last campaign despite their poor form.

The Reds have won their last seven games despite recent injuries and will have Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez available to them this weekend. Man City are well-stocked in every area of the pitch and boast very few fitness concerns, with Sunday's clash seeing two of Europe's elite going toe-to-toe in a mouth-watering encounter.
