Phil Foden reveals goal to become most decorated player ever

Manchester City starlet Phil Foden has revealed that he hopes to win more trophies than any other player has ever managed by the time he hangs his boots up.
The 20-year-old already has two Premier League titles, three League Cups, two Community Shields and one FA Cup to his name, and his City side are once again viewed as favourites to take home all the domestic silverware this season.
After a few seasons learning out on the fringes of the squad, Foden is now a bonafide star in Pep Guardiola's side, racking up ten goals and six assists in 30 appearances in all competitions thus far, and Foden confessed that his sole focus is on winning trophy after trophy, after trophy.
“I want to be the one to win the most medals in my career,” he told CityTV. “That’s my aim. I always want to be the best player in the world, that’s for everyone, but I want to try and win as many trophies as possible and be the most decorated player.
“I am going to give it my best shot and I know I am going to try my hardest.”
There's still a long way to go before Foden will come anywhere close to setting the record for most trophies won in a player's career. That honour is held by Brazilian legend Dani Alves, whose trophy cabinet is full of no fewer than 42 prizes.
Andres Iniesta and Maxwell occupy joint-second with 37, with Lionel Messi and Ryan Giggs both one behind on 36 to round out the top five.
With 'just' eight trophies to his name, Foden is a long way from even breaking into the top ten, but to have so much silverware just three years into his professional career is almost unheard of.
He could take his tally to 12 if City win every competition this season. Guardiola's men are well out in front in the Premier League and have a Carabao Cup final date with Tottenham Hotspur set for April, and City will also be confident of romping to FA Cup glory as well.
Foden is yet to win the Champions League, but City are again seen as one of the favourites to lift Europe's grandest prize. To keep that dream intact, they must first navigate a last 16 tie with Borussia Monchengladbach.
