The former Cambridge midfielder is not renowned for his goalscoring prowess, but he certainly found his form with four goals in the month of September - including two at Blackburn in a spectacular display.

Berry's good form helped elevate Luton into the Championship's top ten following a run of just one defeat in five matches.

2. John Swift (Reading)

Arguably the most talked about player in the Championship so far this season, Swift is already in double figures for goal contributions when you include goals and assists.

Started well in August and continued that with a brilliant September.

Scott Parker's decision to switch Billing into an attacking midfielder continues to pay dividends, with a great September tucked under the belt of the Dane.

The 25-year-old helped the Cherries to four successive wins and claimed key goals in the wins over Cardiff and Luton.

5. Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham)

Appearances: 5
Goals: 6
Assists: 1

Fulham's star man enjoyed his birthday this month and produced a fine September display with six goals and an assist - including a hat-trick in the 3-1 win over Swansea.

There are not many better in the division when Mitrovic is firing on all cylinders.

6. Ben Brereton-Diaz (Blackburn Rovers)
