What a month it was for Mohamed Salah.

In just four games for Liverpool, Salah bagged five goals - three of which came in the Reds' historic 5-0 battering of Manchester United - while he also chipped in with assists against Watford, Manchester City and Brighton.

He also scored goal of the season contenders against Watford and City, with many speculating that he's the best player in the world right now.

2. Declan Rice (West Ham)

David Moyes' East End revolution showed no signs of letting up in October as West Ham picked up impressive wins over Everton, Tottenham and Aston Villa.

Key to their success has been the all-action displays of captain Declan Rice. The 22-year-old has added goals to his game, complementing his supreme defensive attributes perfectly, and he's been the standout player for the Hammers over their past four games.

3. Phil Foden (Man City)

We already knew that Manchester City and England's Phil Foden was a special talent, but his supreme performances in the role of false nine have further emphasised just how good he is.

His crowning moment in the month of October came in City's romping 4-1 win at Brighton, in which Foden bagged two goals, an assist and the man of the match award.

4. Reece James (Chelsea)

Goals: 3

Averaging a goal per game from right wing-back takes some doing, but that's exactly what Chelsea's Reece James achieved in the month of October.

James bagged a superb brace against Newcastle to highlight his month, but he also provided tremendous balance to his side's defence - helping Thomas Tuchel's Blues keep clean sheets in each of his three appearances.

5. Ben Chilwell (Chelsea)

James is not the only Chelsea player who's had a standout month - wing-back partner in crime, Ben Chiwell, has been oustanding as well.

Remarkably, he also chipped in with three goals after reclaiming his place in the side from Marcos Alonso, and the only goal that the Blues conceded in October was a penalty to Southampton's James Ward-Prowse.

6. Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace)

Crystal Palace have been one of the surprise packages of the Premier League season so far and October has been the month where they've really clicked into gear.

Their star man has been Conor Gallagher, whose energy and creativity in the middle of the park has been a joy to behold. He saved his best performance for last, registering a goal and an assist as the Eagles surprisingly beat Manchester City on their own patch.
