PFA Vertu Motors League Two Fans' Player of the Month - September nominees

Each month, you can vote for your favourite players across five divisions of English football, for the chance to win incredible prizes, including the opportunity to present the award to the winning player.

Your League Two nominees for September are...


1. Jamille Matt (Forest Green Rovers)

Assists: 1

One of the danger men for the League Two pacesetters Forest Green, Matt enjoyed himself during the month of September.

Two goals and assist for the former Newport County star, including the only goal in the success over Northampton Town, helped his club go unbeaten.


2. Luke McGee (Forest Green Rovers)

Clean sheets: 4

Forest Green Rovers goalkeeper McGee has been virtually unbeatable this season, evidenced by four consecutive clean sheets during September.

Two wins and two draws pulled the club clear at the top of League Two, proving how valuable it is to have a consistent performer between the sticks.


3. Jake Beesley (Rochdale)

Assists: 1

One of the star men for Robbie Stockdale this term, Beesley claimed two goals and an assist including a brilliant brace at Port Vale to seal victory for Rochdale.

The former West Brom winger also showed he can cut the mustard against top tier opposition, netting in the EFL Cup defeat to Premier League stalwarts Burnley.


4. Luke Armstrong (Harrogate Town)

Emerging as one of the most feared strikers in the lower divisions, Luke Armstrong’s form for Harrogate continued during September.

Three goals and two assists showed the son of Alun Armstrong, current manager of Darlington, is more than just a poacher too.


5. Harry Smith (Leyton Orient)

One of Kenny Jackett's best bits of summer recruitment for Leyton Orient was recruiting Smith from Northampton on a two-year deal.

He enjoyed a brilliant September, scoring four goals, including an excellent brace at Newport County, to help fire the O's towards the top of League Two.


6. Joe Kizzi (Sutton United)

Assists: 1

Sutton United clearly didn't get the new boys are meant to struggle in League Two memo, winning three of their four games in September.

They kept two clean sheets in that time, and credit must go to the instrumental performances of Kizzi during the time. A former school teacher, he's now living his dream and helped lift Sutton into the top half of the table.
