Veteran winger Pedro has revealed he could yet remain at Chelsea despite mounting speculation he is on his way out of Stamford Bridge when his contract expires this summer.

The 32-year-old is widely expected to depart west London when the transfer window opens, having spent five trophy-laden years with the Blues following his move from Barcelona.

The Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order this season, with head coach Frank Lampard deploying the likes of Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mason Mount on the left as he prioritises youth over experience.

The likes of Newcastle, Roma and Real Betis - as well as MLS and China - have all been mooted as potential destinations for the soon-to-be free agent.

However, the player himself claims his future is far from cut and dried, revealing he could yet renew his contract with the Blues but talks have been delayed due to the coronavirus crisis.

Speaking to Spanish radio station El Larguero (as quoted by Goal), Pedro said: “The coronavirus situation affected everything, so at the moment we are waiting for a meeting with Chelsea.

“I know that the contract is concluding, but we have not yet sat down to discuss whether to renew and continue here or not. I’m waiting for the meeting with the club, but am also open to listening to other offers.

“The priority right now is completing my contract, then we’ll see what happens.”

When asked about a potential return to his home country, the former international added: “I don’t know, I really don’t know. I have offers from many places and I’ll evaluate what to do next.

"The truth is, I don’t know what’s going to happen."

Despite only featuring nine times in the Premier League this season, Pedro has enjoyed a successful stint in England, winning the Premier League in 2017 followed FA Cup and Europa League triumphs in the following two seasons.
