Pedri admits uncertainty over latest injury issue

Barcelona midfielder Pedri has admitted that he doesn't have a return date set following his latest injury setback.

Pedri has been out of action since mid-December when he was diagnosed with a "slight muscle issue" ahead of Barcelona's 3-2 win over Almeria at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium.

This is the second spell on the sidelines that the talented you midfielder has endured already this season, with Pedri also missing 12 games after suffering a hamstring strain after gameweek two of the 2023/24 La Liga campaign.

This season is by no means the first which has been hindered by hamstring injuries, with the recurring issue leading the Spain international missing a whopping 67 games throughout his career.

Speaking on a live stream with Ibai Llanos, Pedri provided an update on his latest setback, admitting that he does not have a specific date set for his return to action.

“I don't have a date to return, but it will be soon," he said. "My first season was very long. I played 73 games. It may have affected me, but I wanted to take on the world.

"Everyone says that when you have the first injury it can recur, but I am working physically and mentally so that it does not repeat, I have changed my diet and I have gone to pilates.

"It hurts me when some people say that my lifestyle is the cause of my injuries. I am a person who does not go out, I do not like parties and staying up late at all, and I love training. I just want to play football."

The midfielder will not be in the squad travelling to Estadio Gran Canaria to face off against Las Palmas in La Liga on Thursday evening.
