DC United winger Paul Arriola is the subject of bids from Charlotte FC and FC Dallas, sources have confirmed to 90min.

The United States international has been the subject of speculation throughout this offseason, with multiple clubs from MLS and Liga MX linked.

First reported by's Tom Bogert, 90min is told both Charlotte and Dallas have submitted offers in the region of $2m General Allocation Money (GAM) for Arriola. Club America are also involved in the battle for the 26-year-old.

Arriola has enjoyed five seasons with the Black and Red so far since joining from Club Tijuana in August 2017. During that time, he's registered 20 goals and 16 assists in 89 MLS regular-season appearances.

The wideman currently occupies a Designated Player (DP) spot on DCU's roster but the club have shown a willingess to let him move on in the past.

In February 2021, Arriola joined English Championship side Swansea City on loan until the end of the season, but his big chance in Europe was cut short after he picked up a quadricep injury after just three appearances - unfortunate timing given Arriola sat out the whole of 2020 with an ACL injury. He quickly recovered to score six goals in 20 MLS appearances in 2021.

Head coach Hernan Losada has been busy clearing out his roster after failing to make the MLS Cup Playoffs in his debut season with the club. The likes of Yamil Asad, Junior Moreno, Yordy Reyna, and Erik Sorga have all been allowed to leave, while Frederic Brillant called time on his playing career.

The departure of Arriola would free up a substantial amount of GAM and a precious DP spot for further strengthening.
