Nottingham Forest have secured a deal for Huddersfield Town duo Lewis O'Brien and Harry Toffolo from Huddersfield Town, 90min understands.

The deal for the pair, worth in excess of £10m, was close to being finalised on Monday before the Toffolo part of the deal hit a snag.

However, further talks have now resolved the issue and the two players are due for medicals ahead of moving to The City Ground.

O'Brien was one of the Championship's stand-out performers over the past two seasons and a host of clubs had showed an interest in the 23-year-old central midfielder.

He is being followed through the door at Forest by 26-year-old left-back Toffolo, who managed an impressive six goals and seven assists for the Terriers last season.

Forest have to this point enjoyed a hugely busy summer, having already added Taiwo Awoniyi, Neco Williams, Moussa Niakhate, Giulian Biancone, Omar Richards, Wayne Hennessey and Dean Henderson to their ranks ahead of their long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Costa Rican youngster Brandon Aguilera has also joined from Alajuelense on a four-year deal but will spend the next six months back in his homeland on loan with Guanacasteca.

Once the deals for O'Brien and Toffolo are confirmed, it will take Forest's summer spending to over £70m.
