'Not here just for good results, I want to develop Indian players too,' claims new Chennaiyin boss Thomas Brdaric

Indian Super League (ISL) side, Chennaiyin FC's new head coach, Thomas Brdaric has opened up on joining the Machans, revealing that he is not there just to register top results but also help develop young Indian talent.

Brdaric who was appointed as the new head coach of Chennaiyin FC on June 15 wants to provide Indian fans with a glimpse of German football and has vouched to play an attacking brand of football which would make the fans of the club proud.

The 47-year-old brings vast experience with him considering that he has played for and managed a number of clubs so far in his career, while also making eight appearances for the German national team.

"I like Indian football and the Indian players. They have some individual skills and I want to develop them. I am not only here to get results. I'm also here to evolve young players. It's a special time here. and of course, I have to adapt a little bit to Indian football and to understand how the players work. I'm also happy that I have a chance to show these players here the German football style and I hope they will like it," he said in an interview.

Chennaiyin had a poor 2021/22 season, managing to win only five games in the league, eventually finishing a disappointing eighth in the league table and will bank on the German gaffer to help ensure that they challenge for the title come next season.
