Neymar has revealed he endured 'hell' alongside Lionel Messi during the pair's time together at Paris Saint-Germain.

Brazil international Neymar left Barcelona in 2017 with dreams of grandeur but failed to truly enhance his reputation away from Camp Nou, winning five Ligue 1 titles but failing to bring the Champions League to Parc des Princes.

The former Barca winger elected to join Al Hilal this summer after calling time on his career in Paris. Messi also decided against staying in France's capital, signing for Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami after his contract expired.

Messi achieved a career-long goal in late 2022 when Argentina won the World Cup in Qatar but his relationship with PSG and their supporters deteriorated and it was soon confirmed he would depart.

Speaking to Globo, Neymar revealed: "I was very happy for the year he had, but at the same time very sad, because he lived both sides of the coin, he went to heaven with the Argentina team, won everything in recent years, and with Paris he lived hell. We lived through hell, both he and I.

"We get upset, because we're not there for nothing, we're there to do our best, be champions, try to make history, that's why we started playing together again, we came together there so we could make history. Unfortunately, we didn't make it."

Neymar is yet to make his debut in the Saudi Pro League as he is still recovering from ankle surgery. The 31-year-old has consistently picked up injuries in recent years and hasn't played since February earlier this year.
