Newcastle sought a postponement for their clash against Southampton last weekend citing a spate of injuries and illness.

The Magpies' 1-1 draw with Man Utd last month came at a cost, with Callum Wilson, Allan Saint-Maximin and Ryan Fraser all ruled out for this weekend.

Newcastle are confident Saint-Maximin will return for their league clash with Watford next weekend, although Wilson's injury appears long-term.

Lloyd Jones is expected to miss out, however, although defender Greg Taylor could be passed fit to play.

Howe will be without his star attackers for this one, and he will hope several of his fringe players can prove their worth.

The Magpies are likely to make a few changes with one eye on survival in the Premier League, although they should still comfortably possess enough to get the job done in a professional manner.

Prediction: Newcastle 4-0 Cambridge
