Newcastle will look to shake off defeat to Arsenal in their last outing when they travel to Leeds in Saturday's early Premier League kick off.

The strong late season form of Liverpool means the Magpies' place in the Champions League isn't wrapped up just yet, though they sit two and three points ahead of Manchester United and the Reds respectively in third.

Eddie Howe will duke it out on the touchline with Sam Allardyce, who had 24 games in charge at St James' Park from 2007 to 2008 and later took over at local rivals Sunderland. His Leeds side dropped into the relegation zone on Monday after wins for Everton and Nottingham Forest.

Here's the Newcastle side we could see at Elland Road on Saturday.

GK: Nick Pope - Two behind Manchester United's David de Gea (15) in the Golden Glove chase this season. It's been seven games since his last shutout, a 2-0 win over De Gea's Manchester United in early April.

RB: Kieran Trippier - Hasn't been the FPL king of late like he was earlier in the season. Recently revealed he took a pay cut to join Newcastle from Atletico Madrid.

CB: Fabian Schar - His own goal sealed Arsenal's win at St James' Park last time out but Schar's starting place isn't at risk.

CB: Sven Botman - Similarly to Schar, Botman will want an improved performance against Leeds having struggled with the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus in the 2-0 defeat.

LB: Dan Burn - Plays his unique role in Newcastle's structured defence well. Could have speedsters like Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto in front of him on Saturday.

CM: Joelinton - The Brazilian's six league goals from midfield this season is more than any season where he played up front for Newcastle. Has a joint league high 12 yellow cards alongside Fulham's Joao Palhinha.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes - Made four Champions League appearances for Lyon and is close to reaching Europe's promised land with Newcastle.

CM: Joe Willock - The former Arsenal youngster's darts into the box add another goal threat to the Magpies' midfield alongside Joelinton.

RW: Miguel Almiron - Has had to make do with a substitute role in recent months, picking up an injury after his hot streak of form at the start of the campaign.

ST: Callum Wilson - Only made three accurate passes in the defeat to Arsenal. Definitely an off day.

LW: Alexander Isak - Hasn't scored in Newcastle's last three games, having bagged a double in the 6-1 thumping of Tottenham.
