The Red Bulls suffered their first defeat since September 14th on Wednesday, losing 1-0 to rival DC United at Audi Field. The win for DC United puts them in the playoff picture and one point ahead of the New York Red Bulls with 44. The team is looking to move past the disappointing result.

“Everybody is desperate for points right now and every game is so important. We have to turn around and put ourselves in the best way for Montreal. We have to turn the page and move on quickly,” captain Sean Davis said.

After missing the DC United match, midfielder Omir Fernandez is expected to return for the match with CF Montreal on Saturday.

CF Montreal have only won one of their six previous MLS matches, although the previous three have been draws. The team tied Canadian rivals Toronto FC 1-1 last Saturday. Offense has been an issue for Montreal, who have not scored more than two goals in a league match since September 15th.

Injured forward Romell Quioto is listed as questionable for the match. A potential Quioto return could provide a major boost to a Montreal attack in desperate need.

Predicted Lineups

NY Red Bulls: Coronel; Edwards, Reyes, Nealis, Gutman, Davis, Yearwood, Duncan; Fabio, Casseres, Klimala

Montreal: Pantemis; Camacho, Miller, Waterman, Choiniere, Maciel, Piette, Brault-Guillard; Mihailovic, Torres, Miljevic

New York Red Bulls vs CF Montreal score prediction

Despite losing on Wednesday, New York Red Bulls have been strong throughout the fall stretch of the MLS campaign. The team is 6-1-2 since September 17th, and with the season beginning to wind down, getting back to their winning ways is more important than ever.

RBNY have only had one match in which they have scored more than one goal since September 22nd, but the team has continued to stay out of the loss column. The Red Bulls have only ever lost three times at home to CF Montreal, it will be difficult for them to secure a fourth.

Prediction: New York Red Bulls 1-0 CF Montreal
