New Balance have today revealed the next generation of their Tekela boot, the v3, the first laceless iteration from the brand.
The Tekela arrives in a "Navy Eclipse and Silver Metallic" colourway and features a new Strike Zone in a kaleidoscopic palette of "Varsity Orange, Chromatic, Atomic Yellow and Neo Crimson and Flame" just in time for the return of football all over Europe.
The gang over at New Balance have clearly been busy during lockdown creating a completely new style that they claim is designed for artists of the game. Laces are now a thing of the past with a full foot stretch-knit upper and integrated hypoknit replacing them. The laceless closure now offers a secure and comfortable lockdown for any player.
Engineered for elite athletes, the sole of the boot boasts a lightweight nylon chassis with multi-directional TPU stud tips for incredible traction and acceleration on firm ground pitches. Rounding of the impressive innovative design is a unique embedded pattern and new algorithm-driven KINETIC STITCH technology, for high-resolution touch and graduated strike zones.
The Tekela has previously played second fiddle to the brand's more popular Furon v6 boot - which is worn on pitch by Liverpool's Sadio Mane - but as laces become more antiquated and players look for those marginal gains, a boot powered by an algorithm-driven technology might be just what they're looking for.
The brand new Tekela v3 goes on sale on 4th June and will be available worldwide from selected retailers and online at newbalance.com/football (US residents) and newbalance.co.uk/football (UK residents).
