Aston Villa have signed veteran WSL star Natasha Harding to a one-year contract following her departure from Reading at the end of last season.
Harding first moved to the WSL from Welsh club Cardiff in 2012, with the 2022/23 season set to be her 12th consecutive year in the English top flight.
The 33-year-old 100-cap Wales international had previously played for Bristol Academy, Manchester City and Liverpool before joining Reading in January 2018.
Aston Villa are versatile Harding’s fifth WSL club.
“I’m really excited to be joining the team, staff and fans at this amazing club, she told AVFC.co.uk.
“I'm also excited to see what we can all do together, on and off the pitch, and hopefully achieve some great things along the way. I’m in a great place mentally and physically and I can’t wait to show my strengths to help the team this season.”
Villa are about to begin their third year as a WSL club, having been promoted to the top flight in 2020. They survived relegation on the final day of their debut campaign and improved to ninth place in 2021/22, with the ambition of kicking on again this coming season.
The club has already been active in the transfer market, signing experience Everton pair Danielle Turner and Simone Magill. However, the latter suffered an ACL injury while in action for Northern Ireland at Euro 2022 last week.
