Nadia Nadim recently spoke out on the National Women’s Soccer League amid chaos after a recent investigation uncovered years of sexual misconduct and harassment by former North Carolina Courage coach Paul Riley.

The world renowned player did not hold back as she criticized the NWSL and shared personal stories of the league’s mismanagement.

Nadim currently forms part of the NWSL, playing with Racing Louisville after signing on June 9.  She has played for several teams in the American league, joining Sky Blue FC, now known as Gotham FC, in 2014 and the Portland Thorns in 2016.

“NWSL is such a joke. League wants to see themselves as the best in the world but with this shit that keeps coming we won’t be more than just a massive joke for the rest of the world. The rest of the world is laughing. We’re nothing but a joke. The players deserve more.

"Making their own bogus investigation, keeping it confidential, and then keep having the back of people that’s doing wrong have to stop. I never been harassed, but when a certain club forged my signature to fake an extended option, to gain benefits from a trade, and we submit the proof to the league they did care less. They did absolute zero. ZERO.

"Still, I’m back in this league to make a difference and to improve things. This league can be great, as we have the best players in the world. We just need to get the idiots out, gain power and make this league as great as it CAN be.

Im also very proud to be a part of Racing Louisville. With the right people at the right spots from ownership down to the (current…) coaches. We will obviously need time, but we will be leading by example in the future.”

Nadim is just one of numerous players outraged over the latest reports detailing claims that Riley coerced two Portland Thorns players into sexual acts during his tenure from 2013 to 2015.

The team has since fired Riley, making him the fourth coach in the league to be dismissed due to abuse, sexual misconduct or harassment allegations in the last year.

During outpoor, Nadia also claimed the league will most likely force her to pay a fine for her actions.

“And yes, I may most likely get to pay a fine. If that happens we apparently live in a time and place where the free speech isn’t valued or appreciated. People have tried to silence me my entire life. No one have succeeded. Anyway, I’ll take the fine and continue to do my thing.”
