Fashion Sakala's wonderful hat-trick was the catalyst for Rangers to come from a goal down to maul Motherwell 6-1 at Fir Park, moving four points clear of Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership in the process.

Steven Gerrard's side were at their devastating best after going behind to an early Bevis Mugabi goal, turning things around with a couple of quick goals before the break.

Birthday boy James Tavernier's volley drew the visitors level, before Sakala netted a close-range header to give Rangers a 2-1 lead at half-time.

Sakala extended the lead with a deflected effort a little under 20 minutes into the second half, and the game was effectively over as a contest when Motherwell captain Stephen O'Donnell was sent off after picking up two yellow cards.

Glen Kamara, who signed a new four-year contract at the end of September to end speculation about his future, made it four before Sakala completed his hat-trick to make it 5-1.

There was still time for Kemar Roofe to put the gloss on another classy performance from Gerrard's Rangers, as he netted an injury-time sixth against a deflated Motherwell.
