Major League Soccer announced Monday that Matko Miljevic's contract with CF Montreal has been terminated amidst an investigation into him violating his player agreement.

The 22-year-old has made 16 appearances for Montreal in 2023, but has played just 124 minutes across the entire season, notching one assist.

Perhaps due to the lack of playing time, Miljevic opted to play somewhere else - but under a different alias.

Reports from Canada stated that Miljevic began playing in an indoor amateur league in Quebec and that during one game he reportedly punched another player in the face. The league then allegedly handed Miljevic a lifetime ban for his actions.

"MLS has terminated the contract of Matko Miljevic for engaging in conduct detrimental to the league and violating his Standard Player Agreement," a release from the league read.

Mijevic scored two goals and two assists for Montreal after joining the Canadian side in 2021, making 35 appearances in total.
