Though the MLS season has just started, the top teams are already beginning to separate themselves from those underperforming.

LAFC continues its great form, the New England Revolution sits top of the Eastern Conference, and St. Louis City makes its presence felt in the league.

On the flip side, Western Conference sides like Austin FC and Sporting KC continue to struggle, and Inter Miami look to bounce back from their five-game losing streak with some new signings

St. Louis City sits atop the Supporters Shield standings thanks to their excellent form to start the 2023 season.

The men in red have collected 18 points from eight games played and have a league-high 2.5 goals per match.

Their recent 5-1 thrashing of FC Cincinnati shows that they shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Similarly, LAFC is also enjoying a fantastic run of form. Led by the electric Denis Bouanga and their captain Carlos Vela, the Black and Gold’s 3-2 victory over rivals LA Galaxy showed that they’re playing good football and look poised to repeat as MLS Cup Champions.

Over on the East Coast, the New England Revolution sit on top of their conference with five wins through eight games.

Thanks to the talents of Carles Gil and winger Dylan Borrero, the Revolution is a team that can take everyone by surprise. Though their latest 1-1 draw against Conference rivals Columbus Crew didn’t see them get all three points, the Bruce Arena-led side is still in a comfortable playoff position.

Just below the Revolution in the standings is FC Cincinnati, who also has five wins through eight games.

Cincinnati looks to continue its 2022 success which saw them qualify for the Eastern Conference semi-finals for the first time in club history.
