Erling Haarling's agent Mino Raiola has dismissed suggestions that the forward will join Barcelona should Emili Rousaud win the club's upcoming presidential election.

Josep Maria Bartomeu's successor will be determined on 24 January, and Rousaud is one of a number of presidential candidates to have made big promises in an attempt to set him apart from the rest.

Rousaud has confirmed that Josep Maria Minguella will be his vice president should he be elected, and Minguella hinted that the pair already have one blockbuster transfer plan in place.

"He's a person with a contract in place [at another club] and we have to be discrete," Minguella said. "What we won't do is filter news through. That's very good for the newspapers and very bad for the club. Each time you let a player's name slip, for example, it adds another million on [to their price tag]. Discretion is key."

While there was no mention of Haaland's name - discretion is key - the Spanish press reported that it was the Dortmund youngster Minguella was referring to, with an agreement already in place with Dortmund and Raiola. However, this has quickly been rubbished by Raiola.

"Fake news!" Raiola told German news outlet Sport1: "I’ve never talked to any presidential candidate of Barcelona regarding Haaland and I won’t do. If there will be a new president elected in January, he can call me."

Joan Laporta and Victor Font are seen as the favourites in the Barcelona presidential race, with Rousaud an outsider. He has already proposed renaming Camp Nou after talisman Lionel Messi and re-signing former striker Neymar on a free transfer in 2022.

Haaland has enjoyed a stunning 2020 after moving from RB Salzburg to Dortmund in January. The 20-year-old has scored 33 goals in 32 appearances for the Bundesliga side and scooped the 2020 Golden Boy award, hailing the impact of agent Raiola during his acceptance speech.
