Mauro Manotas is headed to reigning Liga MX champions Atlas FC.

The Colombian forward stands as the team’s third and latest signing, joining former Necaxa player Idekel Dominguez and D.C United Designated Player Edison Flores.

"Atlas FC informs that, after reaching an agreement with Club Tijuana, the Colombian striker, Mauro Manotas, becomes a Red and Black reinforcement for the start of Apertura 2022,” said the team via a press release.

“Mauro, welcome to the two-time Mexican Soccer Champion! We are sure that with your goals we will continue Transforming and Creating the history of Atlas FC, since with you we will be More Red and Black.”

Manotas makes the move to Atlas after one season with Tijuana, where he managed five goals in 17 matches.

Prior to joining Liga MX, the forward featured for Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo. He spent six seasons with the Western Conference side since his debut in 2015, recording 51 goals and 17 assists in 149 appearances.

Atlas heads into the Apertura 2022 as two-time reigning champions and winners of the Campeon de Camepones trophy after securing back-to-back titles in the Apertura 2021 and Clausura 2022. They return to action to kick off the new season on Saturday against Liga MX giants Club America.
