Former Tottenham teammates Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen could be in line for a reunion at Paris Saint-Germain, with the ex Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino poised to take the Parc de Princes hot seat.

Pochettino has been out of management since being dismissed as Spurs in November 2019, but is now set to make his hotly anticipated return to the game and take up the reins at PSG.

Thomas Tuchel was relieved of his duties by the French champions just before Christmas, and Pochettino is expected to be unveiled as the club's new boss before their Ligue 1 clash with Saint-Etienne on 6 January.

The Argentinian will have the January transfer window to mould his new squad, and according to AS, he could team up with a pair of familiar faces in Paris.

PSG have been linked with moves for Alli and Eriksen, who were both integral to Pochettino's success at Spurs, but have gone on to fall out of favour at their respective clubs - Alli under Jose Mourinho at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Eriksen under Antonio Conte at Inter.

Pochettino brought Alli to north London from MK Dons in 2015, and under the former Argentinian international's guidance, he established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe.

However, the midfielder has suffered a dip in form over the past two years, falling out of favour for club and country.

The Evening Standard report that Alli would be open to a move away from Spurs in a bid to get his career going again, but the increasing number of injuries in Mourinho's squad means the club could be reluctant to allow him to depart either on loan or permanently in January.

According to Le10Sport, PSG could propose a swap deal to end Eriksen's underwhelming stint at Inter, with Leandro Paredes going in the opposite direction. Eriksen has been told he can leave in January, and has been linked with a return to the Premier League with Arsenal.
