Chelsea star Mason Mount has poked fun at Real Madrid's Toni Kroos over the German's claim that he did not lose sleep over the idea of playing the Blues in the Champions League semi-final.

Thomas Tuchel's men were by far the better side in both legs, particularly the second, in which Mount bagged the second goal to send Chelsea to Istanbul for a meeting with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the final.

Heading into this game, Kroos appeared to suggest he was not scared of Chelsea. When asked whether he was worried about facing anyone in the Blues squad, he said (via Nizaar Kinsella): "In my 15 years playing football, I never lost sleep."

Well, after celebrating his ninth goal of the season, Mount urged Kroos to rethink his stance a little bit.

"I saw one of their players say before that he doesn't lose sleep over individuals," Mount told CBS Sports. "But as a team, they need to lose sleep over us as a team. We give so much, we defend for our lives.

"You saw that in not many chances that we gave away. We are solid and we need to keep that going."

In another interview with BT Sport, Mount confessed Chelsea are riding an enormous high under Tuchel and that confidence was clear in their performance.

"We should've probably had about five," he said. "But the most important thing is we won. We want to go into every game winning it.

"It was 1-0 but that really didn't matter because if they score, they were back in the game. To get that one late on, you can see by the celebrations, it was a massive goal for us and gave us breathing space in the last five minutes.

"We gave everything and we had that desire to win first half. We had a couple of opportunities where we won the ball and should've scored but we got the one late on and it's great."
