Martha Harris will leave Manchester United when her contract expires this month, having spent four years with the club and being one of the first recruits when the senior squad was reformed in 2018.

Harris, who had previously won the WSL with Liverpool in 2014, was a key member of the United side that stormed to the Women’s Championship title in 2018/19.

A versatile full-back, she then continued to have an important role as the club consolidated in the WSL with back-to-back fourth place finishes under Casey Stoney.

However, the arrival of Ona Batlle in 2020 and Hannah Blundell in 2021 ultimately resulted in Harris’ playing time considerably diminishing and she was afforded only 11 minutes of WSL football in 2021/22 under the management of new boss Marc Skinner.

Harris will leave United having played 49 times in all competitions.

A statement from the club read, "Everyone at the club would like to thank Martha for her service and wish her the best of luck for the future."

The 27-year-old is the first summer departure confirmed by United. A handful of other players are also on course to be out of contract this month, while the club retains untriggered options to extend deals for Alessia Russo, Millie Turner, Ivana Fuso and the aforementioned Batlle.
