Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos has shared his thoughts on the ongoing Kylian Mbappe transfer saga, expressing his desire for a swift resolution at the club.

The French superstar's future has become the centre of attention in this summer's transfer window after he voiced his decision not to trigger the extension in his current contract, which is due to end in 2024.

The tension between Mbappe and the Ligue 1 champions ultimately saw the Frenchman excluded from their pre-season tour squad and given an ultimatum, warning him he must extend or be sold this summer.

When asked about his current teammates situation, Marquinhos told the media: "It is a delicate question. Kylian is an exceptional player, very strong but the decision goes beyond us and it is with management that we have to see it.

"We always want to evolve with the right players. I hope that a good solution will be found so that he comes back to the group and helps us this season."

The saga has also drawn criticism from the Union of French Footballers (UNFP), which defended Mbappe and other players, such as Layvin Kurzawa, Leandro Paredes, Georginio Wijnaldum and Keylor Navas, who faced similar treatment from the club.

As the transfer drama unfolds, speculation has arisen around Mbappe's potential move to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, who have seen a world-record bid of £259m accepted for the 24-year-old.

However, despite the lucrative offer, 90min understands Mbappe remains focused on joining Real Madrid and is not entertaining the idea of leaving Europe.

While Al Hilal have been granted permission to speak to Mbappe by PSG, the final decision will ultimately rest with the French forward.
