Marcus Rashford has been named the Premier League's Player of the Month for February, equalling the record for the most wins of the award by one player in a single season.

The Manchester United forward first picked up the prize back in September and has now won back-to-back awards in January and February.

Rashford is now the first player to win consecutive Player of the Month awards since Ilkay Gundogan did in early 2021, but perhaps more impressively, he moves level with Mohamed Salah for most wins in one season.

Salah won three during the 2017/18 campaign and now Rashford has moved level with the Liverpool forward in the record books.

"Over the moon to have won MU & PL Player Of The Month again," Rashford wrote on Twitter.

"I couldn’t have done it without the rest of the boys and the staff. Setbacks will happen but as long as we stay focused and stay together we will always see the light at the end of the tunnel!"

This award, the fourth of Rashford's career, was awarded after he bagged five goals in four matches for United across February.

Rashford netted in wins over Crystal Palace, Leicester and Leeds, and also found the back of the net in a draw against the latter.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Bernd Leno, Emerson Royal, Manor Solomon and Ollie Watkins were all nominated for the award, but voters - made up of fans and an expert panel - chose to hand the trophy back to Rashford.
