Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford believes there will be a clear difference in their style of play under Erik ten Hag as he looks forward to pre-season.

Former Ajax boss Ten Hag has started work at Old Trafford, and the squad is set to reconvene in just a few weeks ahead of the 2022/23 campaign for a tour spanning Thailand, Australia and Norway.

Rashford will be looking to work his way into the Dutchman's plans over the course of pre-season following a campaign where he struggled with injuries and for form.

It ended up being Man Utd's worst ever Premier League campaign as they missed out on Champions League qualification.

Rashford expects things to change now Ten Hag is in charge, however.

"At the beginning of pre-season, you want to get your fitness levels up," he said. "[You want to] get back to what it’s like to play in the Premier League.

"When a team changes its identity and changes the purpose of the football, it’ll be quite obvious to see. I think you’ll be able to see it.”

Looking ahead to Man Utd's international tour, the forward added: "We all enjoy getting away and spending that time together. Being away from home for so long, it's [the team is] like your little family.

"It’s going to be a nice feeling. We’ve not been able to travel because of Covid, and it’s something that we’ve missed.

"It’s always a big part of our pre-season so it’s exciting to be able to go to those places again."

Rashford continued: "It’s all about experiences and just enjoying having different platforms to perform on.

“For a club like United, it’s important to play at some of the biggest and most popular stadiums around the world, and luckily for us, we’re getting the opportunity to do that.

"It’s going to be a new experience for some of us and it’s important to embrace it and enjoy it."
