Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford wrote their names into recent Manchester United history on Saturday afternoon, becoming the first pair to both reach 20 goals in a single season since Dimitar Berbatov & Javier Hernandez achieved it in 2010/11.

The record was reached at Old Trafford against Bournemouth, when Rashford dispatched a penalty to give the Red Devils the lead on 35 minutes, before Martial doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time.

And in doing so, the pair both hit the 20-goal mark for the campaign - a feat which no Man Utd duo has been able to achieve since the 2010/11 campaign, when Berbatov and Hernandez lit up Old Trafford.

The pair's sensational form has been the catalyst behind the Red Devils' push for Champions League qualification, and they have formed a destructive partnership at the tip of the Premier League giants' attack.

But the dynamic duo have certainly had some help along the way, from a sensational supporting cast. Combined with the up-and-coming (and frankly brilliant) Mason Greenwood, the trio have notched an astonishing 55 goals - more than Liverpool's title-winning trident of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino, which has amassed 51, ESPN's Alex Shaw noted.

Greenwood put in a clinical display against the Cherries, bagging twice in the opening hour, while showing seriously impressive goalscoring instincts along the way. The 18-year-old has shot to fame under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, and he is truly beginning to find his feet in this young and attacking Man Utd side.

The Norwegian boss has built an exciting and attacking team at Old Trafford, and they are really beginning to hit their stride with the season drawing to a close. The Red Devils are closing in on snatching a Champions League qualification spot, and should they do so, many are expecting Solskjaer's men to become a much more consistent outfit next year.

And for the Man Utd faithful, it's unlikely they'll have to wait another nine years for two strikers to hit more than 20 goals in one season again. With Rashford, Martial and Greenwood at their wonderful best, the future is extremely bright on the red side of Manchester.
