Marcus Joseph named Hero I-League player of the month for March

Mohammedan Sporting Club's striker Marcus Joseph has been named the Hero I-League Player of the Month for March 2022.

The 30-year-old Trinidad and Tobago forward has been in incredible form, scoring 10 goals and one assist in 8 I-League games in the 2021-22 season.

"I would like to say thank you very much for this award. My performance this season have been very good but there is still a long way to go and I am looking to improve even more. I am looking to go forward and continue to do a great job for my team.”, Joseph told I-League's official website on receiving the award of the I-League player of the month for March.

With an conversion rate of 0.32 goals per shot, Joseph has been deadly in front of goal this season in the I-League.

On being asked if he thinks he can touch the 20 goal mark this season, Joseph said, "Yes, for sure. I have confidence in myself. As I said before, there is still a long way to go in the tournament and I will be looking to score as many goals as I can and help The Black and White Brigade win the Hero I-League title."

Joseph helped Mohammedan to win the Calcutta Football League and speaking about his team's ambitions for the Hero I-League, the Trinidad and Tobago star said, "The Calcutta Football league was a difficult league, and it was a great performance by the team. We are willing to give our best to win the Hero I-League title as well."

In conclusion, on being asked what is his favourite moment from the ongoing Hero I-League season, Joseph said, "My favorite moment of the season was the first goal I scored against Sudeva Delhi FC because winning the first game is crucial, and that has been my greatest moment in the Hero I-League."
