Despite the fact it's only December, it feels like Manchester United have endured something of a nightmare campaign - with just one home league win all season and given they're already out of the Champions League.

However, amidst all the speculation regarding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future at the club, his side are unbeaten in six league games and sat just one point outside of the top four with a game in hand going into this weekend's round of matches.

Sunday's clash with rivals Leeds represents a superb opportunity for the Red Devils to record back-to-back Premier League wins following their midweek triumph over Sheffield United, and here's the starting XI Solskjaer should field to get the job done.

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

David de Gea (GK) - The Spaniard has come in for more than his fair share of criticism this season and was dropped for the trip to Bramall Lane on Thursday. However, with deputy Dean Henderson culpable for the Blades' opener, De Gea looks set to be restored to the starting XI.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) - Apart from the opening day defeat to Crystal Palace, Wan Bissaka has played the full 90 minutes in every United league game this season. His defensive nous will be key if Solskjaer's men are to nullify the Leeds threat from the wide areas.

Victor Lindelof (CB) -
Seems to be the settled choice alongside Harry Maguire at centre-back. Only missed one league game all season as United were thumped 6-1 at home to Tottenham - has been an ever-present in the league starting XI since.

Harry Maguire (CB) - After a turbulent couple of months off the field which seemed to impact his on-field performance, the United captain looks to be finding his feet again and he'll need to be at his best to keep Patrick Bamford quiet.

Alex Telles (LB) - After a stuttered start to his Old Trafford career caused by injury and a stint in self-isolation, the former Porto man is beginning to settle in England and provides a different sort of threat to Luke Shaw on the left.

2. Midfielders

Paul Pogba (CM) - How do you solve a problem like Pogba? Well, playing him from the off and watching him produce majestic passes like he did against Sheffield United is a good start. The Frenchman looked good at Bramall Lane and should retain his place.

Fred (CM) -
Solskjaer has looked to rotate his midfield three in recent weeks with the hectic Christmas schedule upon us, and having sat out the midweek win over the Blades the Brazilian should return.

Bruno Fernandes (AM) -
Well, we say Solskjaer has rotated his midfield, but this man is a near ever-present. The Portuguese genius has been absent from just one Premier League starting XI for United this season, and even then he was called upon at half-time against West Ham to come and rescue his side.

3. Forwards

Mason Greenwood (RW) - Having been almost unstoppable following Project Restart earlier this year, the youngster has suffered a bit of a dip in form, but he's still one of United's biggest threats going forward.

Anthony Martial (ST) - Another man who has struggled a little this campaign. The Frenchman finally opened his league account for the season in midweek and Solskjaer will need him to push on if United are to keep pace with those ahead of them.

Marcus Rashford (LW) - The England international has been carrying United's frontline this season. Five goals and five assists in his 12 Premier League outings tells you just how important he is to United at this moment in time.
