Manchester United join race to sign Andre Silva

Manchester United are looking to solve their striker problem by adding Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva to their ranks this summer.
The Portugal striker has been in sensational form this season, scoring 19 goals in 22 appearances for the German side and trailing only Robert Lewandowski in the race for the Torjägerkanone.
Silva, 25, has two years remaining on his contract at the club and it is reported (by Sky Germany via Ronan Murphy) that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified the former AC Milan forward as a potential target to help bolster the front line.

United currently have Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial as their central striker options, but the two have scored just 14 goals between them so far this season and have struggled to consistently find the net throughout the campaign.
According to Sky Germany, the forward would be available for around €30m (£26m) and that would be significantly cheaper than any other options currently out there with his goalscoring record.
Man Utd want to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva, according to Sky Germany. It’s believed he would cost around €30m, and he has been linked with Atletico Madrid recently. He’s second in the Bundesliga’s top scorer race and has been phenomenal in 2021. #SGE #MUFC

A concern for many, however, would be his struggles at AC Milan and Sevilla in the two years prior to arriving in Frankfurt. Silva struggled in Italy, scoring just twice in Serie A in 24 appearances before being shipped out on loan to La Liga the following season. While there he was slightly better with nine goals in 27 league appearances, and managed 11 in all competitions in 40 games.
Since moving to Germany though, Silva has seemingly found his goalscoring boots with 30 goals in 45 league appearances.
