Manchester United and Brighton meet in the Premier League this week, a rearranged fixture that was initially supposed to be played on 18 December before it fell foul of Covid-19.

Both clubs have drawn a number of recent fixtures. That has resulted in United losing ground on the top three and finding themselves in a battle for fourth, while Brighton could see it as a positive after twice holding Chelsea and going unbeaten in the league since mid-December.

This is everything you need to know about the game...

Man Utd team news

Fred has returned to training following his recent Covid-19 isolation and could be included in the squad, but Edinson Cavani has not overcome the groin problem that ruled him out of the weekend's Southampton clash. Nemanja Matic is also missing because of a shin injury.

Eric Bailly is still sidelined for the time being.

Brighton team news

Yves Bissouma is expected to start in the Premier League for the first time since returning from Africa Cup of Nations duty, with Leandro Trossard and Alexis Mac Allister also in contention.

Only Enock Mwepu and Jeremy Sarmiento appear to be missing for the Seagulls.

Man Utd vs Brighton head to head record

Manchester United have won the last six games in a row between these clubs, with Brighton failing to take any points from this fixture since back-to-back victories in May and August 2018 when Jose Mourinho was still at the helm in Manchester.

United have also scored three times in four of their last five games against Brighton. But it hasn't been plain sailing - Danny Welbeck gave this week's visitors the lead the last time they played at Old Trafford, while only a very late penalty gave United victory in Brighton early last season.

Man Utd vs Brighton score prediction

A third successive 1-1 draw for Manchester United doesn't seem an unreasonable suggestion.

They have the quality to get ahead but lack the mental strength to see games out, which has proven to be the case in recent home outings against Middlesbrough and Southampton. Ralf Rangnick's team were also pegged back by Burnley at Turf Moor.

Brighton can have every confidence that they too will leave Old Trafford with at least a point.

Prediction: Man Utd 1-1 Brighton
