Manchester United's marathon 2022/23 season continues on Sunday when they host in-form Aston Villa in the Premier League at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils sit fourth in England's top flight, six points ahead of both Tottenham and Villa with two games in hand on both rivals.

However, manager Erik ten Hag will look to provoke a response from his squad after they let a 2-0 lead slip at Spurs on Thursday night.

Here's the United side he could deploy.

GK: David de Gea - Close to signing a contract extension with United and made five saves on Thursday night.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka - May have earned himself another season at Old Trafford with a series of improving performances at the back end of the season.

CB: Victor Lindelof - Admitted about a month ago he needs regular game time. Has since filled in for Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez while scoring the winning penalty in the FA Cup semi-final shootout against Brighton.

CB: Luke Shaw - Still not totally comfortable in the middle of defence but still won three aerial duels against Spurs.

LB: Diogo Dalot - Lacked a bit of poise in midweek. Said his side “should have done much better” in Thursday's draw.

CM: Casemiro - Hasn't looked as secure in the middle of the park with a number of key figures missing.

CM: Christian Eriksen - Might be a case for Marcel Sabitzer to come into the side for Eriksen, who only returned from injury himself recently. If not, Eriksen will continue alongside Casemiro.

AM: Bruno Fernandes - Was a doubt to face Spurs but got through the whole game, assisting Marcus Rashford before half time and hitting the woodwork in the second half.

LW: Jadon Sancho - Whipped in his fifth league goal of the season on Thursday.

ST: Marcus Rashford - Only Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Ivan Toney have scored more Premier League goals than Rashford this season.
