Manchester United are said to have reached a 'breakthrough' in the negotiations with regards to agents' fees and personal terms for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho - but they are still yet to agree a transfer sum with the Bundesliga outfit.
The Red Devils made Sancho a top target last summer with a view to making a move during the 2020 summer transfer window. However, while United remain interested and still consider the Englishman to be their priority signing this summer, Dortmund have stood firm in their valuation of the player.
Reports from Germany previously alluded to Dortmund's supposed 10 August deadline for Man Utd to conclude a deal for Sancho. Dortmund later insisted the player would be staying put this summer. But 90min recently learned that the Premier League giants remain intent on signing the 20-year-old before the window slams shut.
One recent problem to have arisen, however, has been the agent fees, while there have also been doubts as to whether the Red Devils have agreed personal terms with Sancho himself. However, various sources - including James Ducker of the Telegraph - have reported that a 'breakthrough' has been reached regarding agents' fees and personal terms with Sancho.
Furthermore, the Borussia Dortmund forward is still keen to seal a switch to Old Trafford before the summer deadline. However, United have yet to agree a fee with his club.
Dortmund have made it clear that they are after €120m in order to part ways with Sancho and while the Manchester-based outfit were willing to pay such an amount prior to the coronavirus pandemic, they aren't so keen on the idea now.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also interested in signing a centre-back and a left-back this summer, but it has recently been noted that the boss' priority remains a right-winger - specifically Sancho. The Red Devils have already brought in Donny van de Beek this summer to strengthen the midfield, with the former Ajax man joining up with his new teammates on Wednesday.
But it remains to be seen whether United will give in to Dortmund's demands before the deadline in order to land their number one target.
