Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United training after missing their last few games with a groin problem.

The Red Devils' top scorer by a considerable distance this season had to be withdrawn late on in their 2-0 win against Everton on April 8 after pulling up with an injury.

Rashford sat out last week's 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final and was also absent for their 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

But he was spotted partaking in team training during an open training session to the media ahead of their second leg with Sevilla this Thursday.

Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Marcel Sabitzer were also back in the fold following their own respective injuries, but Scott McTominay and Raphael Varane remained absent.

Erik ten Hag is expected to provide a full update on the state of his squad at a press conference later on Wednesday.

Man Utd's reliance on Marcus Rashford

Rashford has been United's most prolific scorer during Ten Hag's debut season at Old Trafford, rediscovering his best form and taking his game to new heights after a career-worst 2021/22 campaign.

The 25-year-old has scored 28 goals in all competitions for United, with Bruno Fernandes his only teammate to reach double figures this season with 10.

Rashford's last goal came in a 1-0 win against Brentford at the start of April, with Ten Hag stating post-match that United are too reliant on his scoring.

"Yeah, it's the truth," Ten Hag admitted.

"But also we know other players can score as well: Bruno, Antony scored a couple of goals, Jadon Sancho can score, Marcel Sabitzer can score. We have many more players across the squad who can score. What you want as a squad is that you have two players who can score more than 12 or 15 goals a season."

United have scored six goals since Rashford last found the net himself, with Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay, Antony and Diogo Dalot all helping out with one apiece. Sabitzer grabbed a brace during last week's draw with Sevilla.
