Manchester United co-chairman Joel Glazer has confirmed he will join a fans' forum on Friday 4 June as pressure continues to mount regarding his family's running of the club.

Glazer and his family have come under increased scrutiny in recent weeks following United's decision to join the much-maligned Super League.

The Red Devils were one of six English clubs who commited to join the breakaway league, though reports have since surfaced that they were one of the leading clubs pushing the idea most alongside Juventus and Real Madrid.

The proposal took little more than 48 hours to collapse, though the decision to join the Super League represented a tipping point for a whole host of United fans who've since taken the opportunity to express their disgust at the Glazer family's running of the club.

Thousands of United fans voiced their displeasure during Tuesday's home clash with Fulham, while just weeks earlier supporters caused their club's fixture with Liverpool to be cancelled after making their way onto the pitch prior to kick-off.

Despite Glazer's attempts to build bridges with the fan base having penned an open letter promising better communication from the club, the protests show no signs of cooling and he seems to have taken the decision to adopt a more personal approach.

The club released a short statement on their official website confirming the co-chairman's intention to join a fans' forum, writing: "Joel Glazer, the club's co-chairman, will join the Manchester United Fans’ Forum on Friday 4 June."

Glazer also provided a short statement in which he expressed his desire to meet with the fans and claimed this could be the start of a new era at the club.

“I am looking forward to the meeting with the Fans’ Forum to hear their views and be part of a constructive discussion," he wrote. "I firmly believe that this can open a new era of positive dialogue and cooperation between the club and the fans.”
