A 3-0 victory over West Ham was exactly what Manchester United needed on Sunday.

Having finally started to put things together - a boost in form which coincides with Rasmus Hojlund's discovery of his shooting boots - Erik ten Hag's side climbed themselves up to sixth with a performance which, while not always comfortable, got the job done.

Here's how the Red Devils fared in 90min's player ratings.

Alejandro Garnacho - 8/10

Who could have guessed that the guy who scored twice would end up winning the Player of the Match award?

It was a deserved honour for Garnacho, who was particularly dangerous in the second half and looked to be on top of the world as he constantly ran at West Ham's defence in search of a moment of magic.

Honourable mention

Bruno Fernandes - 8/10

Fernandes picked up the assist for Garnacho's first goal in a performance which featured real quality on the ball.

He created three chances for United but made an impact when out of possession as well, leading United's press and handling some ugly defensive duties to keep his side ahead when West Ham were threatening to get back into the game.

Man Utd's worst player vs West Ham

Harry Maguire - 4/10

West Ham had 22 shots at Old Trafford - United themselves had just 12 - and so it's safe to say they weren't exactly at their best defensively.

Maguire was guilty of a handful of poor moments. He handed Emerson the chance for an equaliser immediately after half-time and had Diogo Dalot to thank when the full-back came over to stop Jarrod Bowen after he had got in behind Maguire.

Dishonourable mention

Marcus Rashford - 5/10

Rashford didn't exactly get a whole lot wrong here, but he was a noticeable weak link in a United attack that ended up cooking on full heat.

While Fernandes, Garnacho and Hojlund were at the centre of United's success, Rashford always appeared to be struggling. He was regularly given the chance to make something happen but, whether he was crowded out or made wrong decisions, things never really came off.
