Manchester City return to Premier League action this weekend looking for a win and all three points against Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Pep Guardiola watched his team win handsomely in Belgium against Club Brugge in the Champions League in midweek, having also beaten Burnley at home in their last domestic match.

But it has been around six weeks since City last won consecutive Premier League games and the reigning champions will be hoping to change that here.

This is the starting XI that Guardiola could pick...

Man City predicted lineup vs Brighton - Premier League

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Ederson (GK): The Brazilian returns in the Premier League after missing out against Burnley a week ago due to international duty.

Joao Cancelo (RB): Has played every minute in the Premier League and Champions League so far this season and could be back on the right to give Kyle Walker a break.

Ruben Dias (CB): City have already kept six clean sheets in the Premier League in eight games this season, led by the reigning PFA and FWA player of the year.

Aymeric Laporte (CB): Continues to keep John Stones out of the side. The Englishman’s only chance this season came last week when Dias was rested.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB): His chances this season have been limited but he returned to the bench against Burnley and Club Brugge following a recent injury and could get a start here.

2. Midfielders

Bernardo Silva (CM): Very much back in favour this season and has often been City’s standout player. Should be fresh because he was withdrawn in under an hour in midweek.

Rodri (CM): Anchors the midfield, which could be key against a Brighton side that will likely play with three in central areas.

Kevin De Bruyne (CM): Over an early season injury and has now started the last three Premier League games in a row. Got an assist on Tuesday and came off early with the game won.

3. Forwards

Gabriel Jesus (RW): Could get his first club action in three weeks after missing out last weekend because of international duty and staying on the bench in the Champions League.

Phil Foden (CF): Only needed to play just over an hour in Belgium and is set to continue as a the ‘false nine’ given the lack of an alternative striker.

Raheem Sterling (LW): Could get the nod ahead of Jack Grealish in the Premier League again. Got an assist off the bench against Club Brugge but has had few domestic chances.
