It's second vs third in Division 1 Feminine on Saturday, as Lyon welcome Montpellier to the Stade Gerard Houllier for one of two encounters between the pair over the course of the next seven days.

The reigning French champions have won two from two in all competitions since returning from the winter break, but surrendered top spot in December with a narrow 1-0 loss to league leaders PSG.

They face a Montpellier side who are going well in the top flight and are unbeaten since the last meeting between these two sides back in October.

Lyon team news

Ada Hegerberg, Griedge Mbock, Catarina Macario and Ellie Carpenter all remain long-term absentees for Lyon, with the latter two both sustaining ACL injuries at the tail end of last season.

Forward Melvine Malard has also not been named in the Lyon squad ahead of Saturday's fixture.

Lyon vs Montpellier score prediction

Montpellier could prove to be a really tough test for Lyon. Although the European champions were 3-1 winners when the pair last met, this was thanks to two goals in the final 20 minutes, and Montpellier have not lost in the league since. This includes holding league leaders PSG, who were themselves 1-0 winners over Lyon in December, to a 2-2 draw.

Lyon's extensive injury list means they have not been their usual dominant force domestically and in Europe this season. However, their starting XI remains one of the best in the world, and they should still just edge it on Saturday.

Prediction: Lyon 2-1 Montpellier
