Lyon and Juventus go head to head in a crunch Champions League encounter on Wednesday evening, with a place in the competition's quarter-finals at stake.

European champions Lyon are currently in prime position to secure their spot in the knockout stages, and only need a draw to ensure their safe passage through. They can still top the group with victory, but need Arsenal to slip up against bottom side Zurich in the group's other fixture.

Juventus trail Lyon by two points and only a victory on Wednesday will be enough for them to book their quarter-final place.

Lyon team news

Ada Hegerberg, Griedge Mbock, Catarina Macario and Ellie Carpenter all remain long-term absentees for Lyon.

Sara Dabritz was pictured out on the grass on Tuesday and has returned to training, but is not yet '100% ready'. The midfielder has been restricted to just two league appearances for Lyon thus far due to injury following her summer switch from PSG.

Juventus team news

Juventus continue to be without Amanda Nilden after the centre back suffered a metatarsal fracture in October.

Sara Bjork Gunnarsdottir has also not been named in the Juve squad that will travel to France as she remains sidelined through injury.

Lyon vs Juventus score prediction

Juventus held Lyon to a 1-1 draw when the two sides met in October's reverse fixture, and they have also taken points off Arsenal during this season's Champions League campaign. To still be in contention for quarter-final qualification, given the tough group they were drawn in, is a real credit to them.

Lyon have strengthened since beginning their group stage campaign with a stutter, picking up maximum points from their last three Champions League outings - including last week's hard fought victory over Arsenal. They are still injury-hit, but have welcomed Damaris Egurrola, Amandine Henry and Dzsenifer Marozsan back in recent months, and should just edge it on Wednesday to book their quarter-final spot.

Prediction: Lyon 1-0 Juventus
