Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has revealed he is still hoping Kylian Mbappe signs a new contract and decides against a summer exit.

Mbappe recently informed PSG in private he would not put pen to paper on a new deal at Parc des Princes with his current contract due to expire at the end of the season. He is in talks with Real Madrid over a move to the Santiago Bernabeu but an agreement has not been finalised yet.

In an interview with Amazon Prime Video ahead of PSG's trip to bitter rivals Marseille, Enrique refuted suggestions this could be the last time Mbappe partakes in Le Classique.

"Why is it his last? I continue to hope that Kylian changes his mind," Enrique said.

"He hasn't announced anything yet, he may change his mind. Imagine that we win four titles this season. We will see."

While Enrique is adamant Mbappe could change his mind as he has not made his decision in public, 90min reported last month he was present when the forward informed the squad of his desire to leave, with the head coach even joking to his younger brother Ethan his future may also be away from Paris.

90min understands Mbappe has already turned down a contract offer worth €70m-gross-per-year from PSG, which would also have included the reimbursement of an €80m loyalty bonus waived last summer. Madrid, meanwhile, want to thrash out terms similar to their 2022 offer to Mbappe, which are believed to be worth €30m annually plus a a €130m signing-on bonus.

As Enrique said, PSG are on the hunt for a quadruple this season. They have already claimed victory in the Trophee des Champions and sit 10 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 having lost only once all season. Les Parisiens are also through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League where they will face Barcelona, while a semi-final with Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund awaits the winner.
