Thank the football gods: the Premier League is finally back.

The weekend's first offering was a tasty - if clear-cut - encounter between Watford and Liverpool, with a familiar face the latest manager through the quite literally revolving door at Vicarage Road, following Xisco Munoz's sacking.

That's right! Claudio Ranieri is BACK. Cue some lovely scenes pre-kick off.

Unfortunately for Ranieri and his Watford side, that was just about the only pleasantry Liverpool were willing to offer up before going for the jugular.

Just nine minutes in, the visitors led through Sadio Mane - but this was a goal that was all about Mohamed Salah.

Widely regarded as the best player in the world at the moment, the Egyptian rolled Danny Rose on the right flank just beyond the halfway line before running onto the ball and producing a wonderful, arcing, outside-of-the-boot pass into the onrushing Mane's path, leaving him with the simple task of applying the first-time finish.

A pass you could watch all day long.

While the goals didn't exactly flow in the rest of the first half, the Reds absolutely dominated possession, to an almost scary extent - making Watford look very, very bad at football in the process.

2-0 did arrive ten minutes before the break through a tap in for Bobby Firmino following a neat passing move.

Firmino doubled up shortly after the break as he capitalised on a defensive mix-up, before Salah produced yet another stunning example of individual quality.

Collecting the ball in the Hornets' penalty area, Salah dribbled away from three defenders before cutting back inside and curling a sumptuous left-foot effort into the far corner. The man could not be more on top of his game.

Ten minutes into the second half and it was job done, with all four corners of the ground treated to a bumper episode in the latest series of the Mo Salah Show.

Liverpool weren't quite done there though, with Firmino nabbing his hat-trick in injury time to make it 5-0 and round off a perfect early kick off for Jurgen Klopp's men, who go top of the Premier League.

But, despite the Brazilian's haul, it's Salah's world at the moment - we're just living in it.
